Bar Ware was conceived as an unpretentious neighborhood bar with an edgy downtown feel.  It was a new construction project with almost no architectural character but it had large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the historic neighborhood streetscape.  To add texture and character, a brick veneer with a slurry finish was applied to the walls.  The ceiling ended up with lots of pipes and exposed ductwork which actually helped give the space an industrial look.  Exposed socket lights with antique style cages added warmth and glow the space.  A custom arched antique mirror and custom brass bar shelving added the right cozy elements for a friendly neighborhood feel.  The client had a wonderful collection of art that hangs over the long counter-height banquette.  A mix of lounge and bar furniture make this a cozy spot for cocktails and small plates.
